Latin American Contemporary Art Projects (LaCa) proudly announces the opening of Collective II: Latin American Perspectives, a massive exhibition featuring both past and new works of twelve contemporary artists, all of whom hail from Latin America and have been featured at LaCa Projects since its opening three years ago. The works in this dynamic exhibition demonstrate LaCa’s dual endeavor to reveal complex elements of Latin American culture while also exposing the individuality and unique experiences of each artist.
Whether through architecture, symbolism, anatomy, fantasy, or the like, the influences and images in this exhibition allow notable distance from traditional Western imagery and pay remarkable homage to the artists’ roots, as each has been strongly influenced by their Latin American surroundings and upbringings. The works in this show, organized in order of their debut at LaCa Projects, bring a breadth and depth of styles that are rarely but beautifully married.
